This bearing set has been put together especially for the
SVX. The factory rod bearings have proven to be a weak
point of the stock engine and so special attention has been
placed on upgrading them with a much more resilient bearing.
The aluminum bearing used in this set has a more wear
resistant and many times thicker friction surface than the
standard tri-metal bearing. They can withstand almost
3 times the heat and are bored for more accurate tolerances
and better prevention of debris embedment.Aluminum main
bearings were used by the factory and they have proven to be
strong point of the engine. We utilized the same
bearing in this set.
Excellent bearings on their own, we have taken them a
step further and had Calico give them a CT-1 dry film
lubricant coating. This is the same coating used in
NASCAR and Formula 1 racing. It reduces friction and
provides an extra layer of protection in case of oil film
break down under extreme operating conditions. This
combination of coating with the friction and heat resistance
of the high silicon bearing make a bearing that can
withstand momentary operating conditions which would
otherwise cause catastrophic engine failure.
We have standard and oversize bearings in stock to allow
for machining of damaged and worn crankshafts. Please contact us
